ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office (FO) said on Thursday that Chinese President Xi Jinping will visit soon.
Talking to media correspondents, FO spokesperson Tasneem Aslam said Jinpings vist to India will not have any bearing on Pak-China relations.
“The visit of the Chinese president to India will not affect Pak-China ties as he will soon be visiting Pakistan,” she told the media.
According to the spokesperson, Jinping had met Adviser to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Foreign affairs and National Security Sartaj Aziz at a meeting of the Shangai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Dushanbe on Monday.
Meanwhile, following consultations between the governments of China and Pakistan, the vist of Chinese president to the country had been cancelled in light of protests in Islamabad led by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT).
