At least three suspects were detained on Thursday after a shared operation carried out by security forces, Rangers personnel and police commandos in Islamamad’s Bani Gala area.
After receiving a clue about the presence of suspects, security personnel carried out the operation in Bani Gala and arrested the suspects along with a large amount of destructive stuff.
At least four magazines, 67 rounds of ammunition and 12 bore Russian rifles were recovered from these people.
Bani Gala has been gaining popularity for couple of years as one of the prominent politician and former cricketer Imran Khan resides in this very place. And it has also been speculated that his live is in danger since he is taken a blunt speaker.
Meanwhile, Islamabad is the federal capital of Pakistan and a number of search operations have been carried out in the city in the recent past.
It houses the Presidency, the Prime Minister House, the Parliament and the Supreme Court and authorities in the past have also claimed to have foiled attacks on the Parliament which lies adjacent to Aiwan-i-Sadr.
Moreover, the city is no stranger to terrorist activity. Ealier this year in March, at least 11 people, including additional session judge Rafaqat Awan, were killed and 29 others were wounded during a gun and bomb attack in a court in the capital’s F-8 sector. However, of all the attacks it has witnessed, the bombing targeting the Marriot Hotel remains the most well-known.
