KARACHI: In an unprecedented move, Sindh government has declared Public holiday through out the province on Holi, which is a famous religious festival of Hindu community.
Following the initiative pulled over by the Sindh government, 24 March will be holiday on account of the holiday. The notification released on Saturday states that “all offices, Autonomous, Semi-Autonomous Bodies, Corporations and Local Councils under the Administrative Control of Government of Sindh except essential services” will be observing the holiday on March 24.

With this addition of holiday being observed at offices of Sindh, there will be two consecutive holiday as Pakistan Day 23 March is a National Holiday and is commemorated with full zeal and patriotic reverence.
The move of having a public holiday on the eve of Holi, is the first time being observed in any part of Pakistan.
Although, this step taken by Sindh govt. comes days after the National Assembly adopted a resolution and was considering to announce holidays for minorities at their religious events like Holi, Easter and Diwali.
Holi is a famous religious festival of Hindu communities, the festivals is famous for spreading love and colors around.
