KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Farooq Sattar said on Thursday that his was got frustrated after seeing Prime Minister visiting to Karachi as he did not answer their questions.
During talks to media representatives at Nine Zero, the senior Rabita Committee member said PM was ‘gifted the arrest of workers’ as he arrived Karachi.
Mr Sattar kept on saying that in accordance with Article 10 of the Constitution, it was necessary to state reasons for detaining anyone, reiterating his party’s earlier claim that workers are being arrested illegally under the disguise of the Karachi operation.
The MQM leader said it was obvious that his party was being concerned and voiced frustration that Nawaz Sharif did not make any contact to his party on this occasion.
Farooq also alleged that party chief Altaf Hussain’s live speeches had been banned on TV, which he claimed was a scheme to enforce the ‘minus Altaf formula’.
The MQM leader also said that his party will stage a protest to demonstrate against the ban on Altaf’s speeches.
“Today they are not airing his [Altaf Hussain’s] speeches. Tomorrow it will be someone else,” added the party leader.
Mr Sattar also said that his party will take the matter to court as he claimed the ‘unannounced ban on Altaf Hussain’s speeches is illegal’.
