KARACHI: After quitting the dialogue with government and not taking back the resignations from Assemblies, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has announced to launch the campaign to make the Karachi a separate province.
MQM senior leader Dr. Farooq Sattar told the private news channel that they’ve publicly announced a movement for a separate province. “We are now focusing on getting a separate province and well start mobilizing people”, he added.
Moreover, MQM has announced that it will not hold any dialogues with the government and will not withdraw its resignations from the assemblies as per direction of MQM chief Altaf Hussain. Farooq Sattar said that the party is now focusing on a separate province either it is called Karachi Province, Urban Province, Sindh One or Sindh Tow. But the fact is that a separate province has become the destiny of the ignored, deprived and discriminated people of lower Sindh and urban parts of the province, he added.
In order to make the campaign successful, MQM will consult with the people of Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas and Nawabshah. MQM officials said that they support the formation of other provinces and there is space in Constitution of Pakistan, 1973 for formation of new province.
