KARACHI: K-Electric has thrown another bomb on the citizens of Karachi by raising the electricity tariff from 25 – 57 percent which is normally told as 30 % rise in tariff in average.
This is the highest rise in tariff in the history of Karachi and sources of k-Electric told in this regard that this rise in tariff is not in the hands of K-Electric. Rather, NEPRA has issued the notification for the rise in tariff.
It is further noted here that NEPRA has also directed K-Electric to implement the new tariff from July 15,2015 in the bills.
According to the new tariff details, the small consumers have to pay an extra 1,500 rupees in the bill every month.
The consumers using 200-300 units of bill every month have to pay Rs.10.20 per unit. It means now their bill will rise from Rs.3,300 to Rs.4,700.
The consumers who consume from 300 to 700 units per month will have to pay Rs.16 per unit. It means now their bill will rise from Rs.8,200 to Rs. 13,200.
The consumers who consume more than 700 units per month will be charged with Rs. 18 per unit. It means now their bill come of Rs.19,200 instead of Rs. 12,800.
Similarly, the consumers using more than 2,000 units per month will have to pay now Rs. 40,000 instead of Rs. 31,000.
