KARACHI: On Friday, Sindh Provincial Assembly passed Sindh Criminal Prosecution Service Bill, all opposition parties opposed and protested against the bill.
According to reports, passed bill will enable the provincial government to withdraw any subjudice case.
Senior minister Nisar Khurro tabled the motion to amend the bill, which was passed by the assembly.
All opposition parties raised slogans against the bill and tore the copies of the agenda, speaker continued the house.
Mutahaida Qaumi Movement (MQM) stalwart and leader of the opposition Khawaja Izhar ul Hasan criticized the government on the bill and also lamented deputy speaker Shehla Raza who was continuing the house in absence of speaker Agha Siraj Durrani that she did not allowed to table point of order.
PML-F member Nusrat Sehar Abbasi, criticized deputy speaker for not giving the opposition due time according to her.
PTI MPA Khuram Sher Zaman, termed the bill as ‘Zardari Bill’, and said that this bill will protect Asif Ali Zardari’s friend Dr. Asim.
