KARACHI: Saulat Mirza, the former political worker of Muttahida Qaumi Movement, has been again booked for execution by an Anti Terrorism Court, Karachi. He will be hanged on 1st April.
An Anti-Terrorism Court in Karachi today (Tuesday) reissued the execution warrants for Saulat Mirza. On March 19, 2015 Mirza’s execution was deferred for 3 days on the direction of Interior Minister, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.
On March 20, 2015, President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif met in Islamabad to discuss the postponement of Saulat Mirza’s execution for 90 days. However, today ATC has re-issued the death warrants of Saulat Mirza.
Earlier, Saulat Mirza has confessed that in July 1997 he had murdered the Managing Director of KESC Shahid Hamid, his driver Ashraf Brohi and guard Khan Akbar on the direction of Babar Ghuri who had been ordered by Altaf Hussain.
Saulat Mirza alleged in his confession video “I was summoned at Babar Ghauri’s house where I took Altaf Hussain’s orders via telephone. Altaf Hussain usually passes his instructions through Babar Ghauri.”
