KARACHI: The committee formed to probe the Safoora tragedy has put forward a recommendation to the Interior Ministry to offer Rs.10 million reward for the person who provide information that could lead to the identification of attackers of the Ismaili community bus attack.
The committee met here on Thursday chaired by City Police Chief Ghulam Qadir Thebo comprises four DIG’s and two SSP’s. It was also decided in the committee to enhance the tempo of the targeted operation in Karachi and improve the intelligence system.
The security in minority areas of the city has also been decided to increase.
Safoora tragedy occured on Wednesday in Karachi in which the Ismaili community was attacked when gunmen boarded and opened indiscriminate fire inside a bus. At least 47 people were killed in the attack which took place near Safoora Chowrangi.
Earlier, Orangi police put a raid in Frontier Colony in Orangi area in which 60 suspects have been arrested and shifted to the concerned police station. SP Orangi Town told that arrested people are expected to be involved in Safoora tragedy and they would be investigated accordingly.
