MULTAN: A woman was taken into custody over alleged atrocity to animal on Sunday.
The animals have been beaten, slaughtered, torn into pieces, sold, cooked, and eaten in all over the world. But beating is something not in practice in West or other developed countries but it is a common thing in Pakistan where no one can imagine that anyone would ever be arrested over beating a donkey. This was what happened when a Saddar Police spokesman said that a resident of Pakpattan, Muhammad Anwar, had informed them that his donkey went missing on Friday.
According to the police, the owner of donkey formed several groups consisting his neighbour in search for the animal. He told, as he was passing by some houses at the margin of the village, he discovered his donkey tied with ropes. As he stated, he saw a woman and two men were brutally beating his donkey.
“I tried to rescue my donkey from them but they beat me as well,” he told the police.
As he went on, he said later neighbours intervened and helped him take his animal to a public veterinary hospital to give it first aid.
Saddar police filed an FIR under Section 429 of the Pakistan Penal Code (mischief by killing or maiming cattle).
