Three girls shot dead by male cousin in Multan

MULTAN: Three teenage girls were put to death when their male cousin opened fires on them in the name of honour, as claimed by police, in Pakka Sadhar village in Pakpattan.

Ramazan Joiya’s sister also sustained critical injuries during stopping her brother from the act of brutality.

According to Multan police, they have identified Ramazan as convict and the brother of Farzana.

On the other hand, the deceased girls were identified as Aasia 19, daughter of Ramazan’s maternal uncle Noor Muhammad, Saba 18, daughter of another maternal uncle Abdus Sattar and Kalima Bibi 17, daughter of his maternal uncle Abdul Ghaffar.

In the initial reports, the police said that girls were living in Abdul Ghaffar’s home. Police said that Ramaz got annoyed and in his wrath over their existence at the same place and opened fires on them. Apparently, real reason behind the incident is no obvious and it can’t be said that it was an act of ‘honour killing’.

DSP Iftikhar Humayun and SHO Rana Imran Tipu reached the site of crime and blocked the area while the criminal fled soon after the incident.

Dead bodies have to be handed over to their heirs after the post mortem and an FIR has been filed against the convict Ramzan Joiya at Kalyana police station. DSO Iftikhar Humayun gave surety that police would detain the criminal very soon.
