LAHORE: DJ Butt, who manages the sound system of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led rallies, was attacked outside his office in Model Town Friday night.
CCTV video of the incident suggests that the men approached the DJ Butt’s office which is also a café and dragged him out and attacked him.
According to DJ Butt, he did not have antagonism with anyone and did not recognize the ones who assaulted him.
Taking CCTV as testimony, the police have started investigation into the incident.
Butt, who comes from the musically enthusiast family, had come across PTI chairman Imran Khan for the first time on April 22, 2011, just before a few days of Imran’s gigantic sit-in in Peshawar. Thence, his career as a DJ for PTI rallies took off and it has not come to an end since then.
His supported political party has been staging protest against alleged rigging in the 2013 general elections and has also demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif whose government it calls outcome of a rigged election.
DJ Butt had also been detained during PTI’s sit-ins staged at Islamabad’s Constitutional Avenue. However, he was released soon after his detention.
