A student belongs to Ghotki district studied at Mirpur Mathelo FCC Government Grammar School, took part in the contest and ended with bronze medal for PowerPoint 2013 at the Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship 2015 (MOSCW).
The competition was held week ago in Dallas, Texas and appealed 600,000 participants who were ace in Office and other Microsoft areas. After the early qualification levels, the winners called to Dallas for the final round.
Ghotki’s Waqas Ali was the only participant from Pakistan and he himself took the burden of his journey and made to Dallas on his own expense. It was the 14th edition of the MOSCW where the final round of the competition witnessed 145 students belonging to 47 different countries.
“I am feeling so many things right now, but most of all, I am proud that I have won. This was the first time for Pakistan, I was the only one, and I’ve won it. In fact, no, this is not my win. This is the win of my family, TEC Education Foundation, my friends, for all their support during this competition,” said Waqar Ali after ending with bronze medal.
Further, bronze medal winning candidate was also awarded with $1500 in scholarship, a trophy, Microsoft products, an HP Windows Tablet and Parrot Drone for the winner.
The event was organized by Certiport, a test delivery solution provider.
