The election tribunal declared the elections of NA-154 null and void by deseating the PML(N) candidate Muhammad Siddique Khan Baloch and ordered to re-election in the constituency.

NA-154 was among four constituencies where PTI Chairman Imran Khan has been demanding to recount and verification of thumb impressions.

During General Election on May 11, 2013, Muhammad Siddique Khan Baloch (Independent – who later joined PML-N) had secured the seat of National Assembly from NA-154 constituency (Lodhran) by bagging 86, 177 against the second position holder Jahangir Khan Tareen – Secretary General of PTI- who collected 75,955 votes.

The result was challenged by Mr. Tareen through an election petition field under Section 52 of the Election Act on the ground that Mr. Baloch held fake secondary education, intermediate and undergraduate degrees and was involved in illegal means on the polling day as well. The lawyers of both parties completed their arguments and the election tribunal reserved its verdict for today (August 16, 2015).

On the application of Mr. Tareen, tribunal had directed the NADRA on May 21, 2016 to verify thumb impression. Just after three days of application of Mr. Tareen, Mr. Baloch got a stay order from Lahore High Court on May 16.

According to ECP, out of 370,150 registered votes, 235,938 were polled and 9,904 votes were rejected. The voting percentage in the constituency was 67.4%.123
