Government faces strong criticism over Rana Sanaullah’s reinstatement


LAHORE: After the report of JIT, which gives clean chit to PM and CM and 10 of the  police officers were held responsible of the violence at Paksitan Awami Tehreek (PAT) secretariat on June 17, 2014. In which 14 member of PTA were died , after clash rage between police and PAT.


Rana Sanaullah the Punjab Law minster of Punjab of that time was suspended from the office, following the PAT secretariat incident.


Tahir-ul-Qadri chairman PAT earlier said that JIT report is fake and criticised it severley. Chairman PAT addressing PAT workers via video link from Canada on Saturday, said,”Nobody would have any problem on the reinstatement of Rana Sanaullah if the court had cleared him of charges,”.


“Appointing Rana Sanaullah as law minister is shameful and once again the regime of murder and lawness will prevail in Punjab under the supervision of the minister. The Punjab government will cover up all such crimes in future too,”  he added.

PTI legislators protested in front of the Punjab Assembly on Saturday, under supervision of Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed. “The government had promised a transparent inquiry into the matter but has failed to make Justice Baqar Ali Najfi’s report public. The reports blames the Punjab government and Rana Sanaullah for the riots,” Rasheed said.

“It seems the government does not want to ensure justice for the families of those killed in Model Town,” SIC chairman Hamid Raza said.
