Cyber crime wing of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) traced and took into custody on Wednesday a gang consisting of three from Rawalpindi for hacking Facebook accounts of more than 80 females from across Pakistan and abroad.
The agency issued a statement saying all three remanded into custody of FIA for three days for the investigation.
The three members, Bilal Hussain, Zulqurnain and Javed, belong to Sargodha; however they were arrested from Sadiqabad area of Rawalpindi.
The gang reportedly hacked at least 80 accounts belonging to females and had targeted the victims by sexually harassing them or blackmailing them otherwise. The main suspect, Bilal has confessed that his group had hacked couple of dozen accounts of girls from Pakistan and India. They also revealed that they learned hacking from internet.
The investigation reported that one of the convicts, Zulqurnain, had been running an illegal internet cafe in the past.
As far the trials of such cases, they would be deal under conventional sections from Pakistan Penal Code as there is no cyber law in the country as yet.
The FIA wing, NR3C, however, is available for any complaints and they can be accessed through nr3c.gov.pk. Anyone wishes to complaint about any sort of cyber crime can register complaint with NR3C by simply emailing them by providing details.
