Former PM Gillani speaks to his kidnapped son Ali Haider via telephone from Afghanistan


MULTAN: Former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani spokes with his kidnapped son Ali Haider Gillani via telephone from Afghanistan.  Shah Mehmood Qureshi senior leader of PTI was along with former PM and he also talked to Gillani’s kidnapped son.


It is reported that former PM was in Jalalpur when he received a call from a unknown number and both of the political leaders reportedly spoke for about eight minutes. This was the first time the former premier spokes to his son after his kidnap on May 09, 2013.

Yousuf Raza Gillani confirmed that he had spoken to his son via telephone and further told that his son was safe. He also told that he was hopeful that his son would soon be released.


Sources claim that kidnappers talked with Yousuf Raza Gillani and then let Ali Haider Gillani to speak to him.

Ex-PM also told that abductors have also made some demands, although he didn’t reveal them in front of media.

Gillani also told that he would be talking with Afghan authorities for release of his son.

Ali Gillani was kidnapped on May 9, 2013 while doing campaign for the general elections, which have to be held on May 11. He was the candidate of PPP for Multan’s PP-200 constituency. Unknown assailants attacked him while he was coming back from a public meeting. In the attack his secretary and guards were shot dead and he was kidnapped.
