RAWALPINDI: A young-man was tragically struck by a rapidly forwarding train on Tuesday when the deceased tried to take a selfie on the railway track in Rawalpindi.
The man was identified as Pervaiz, who belonged to Rawalpindi’s Dhoke Ratta area.
“The incident took place in Marrir when Pervaiz jumped on the railway track to take a selfie in front of a train that was moving towards him,” a police official told media.
Such incidents have been noticed for couple of years from across the world. Since the mobile phone having front camera addition has been invented and provided cheaply, the trend of taking selfie has been on the rise. People, especially, young one are quite obsessed by this new trend and many try to capture their own photos, putting their lives in grave danger, only to have a unique picture so that they could show their friends.
Earlier, couple of months ago, a young man was posing with a gun in Texas had accidently shot himself and died afterwards.
In Pakistan, this trend is increasing and people are getting self-centered have obsessed by taking selfie. According to psychologists, taking selfie is a kind of disease with a close proximities with ‘inferior complex’.
