During a press conference in Lahore, leaders of both the parties said JI had made its mind to back the PTI candidate in NA-122 and would also support its ally in the elections for PP-147, to be held on October 11.
While publicising party’s decision, JI leader Mian Mqsood said the move was made upon the conclusion of three dialogue sessions with the PTI leaders. He said that the dialogue was took place to align details as JI had its own apprehensions regarding seat adjustment with PTI.
Maqsood expressed his hope about coming re-polling saying PTI would conquer the NA seat and grab Punjab’s PP-147 as well, adding that JI itself was exclusively spotlighting the upcoming local body polls.
On this occasion, PTI stalwart, the former governor of Punjab, Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar thanked the JI leadership and said his party would effortlessly grab the critical seat as people knew the government’s incompetence.
“Those ruling us for the last 30 years have failed to solve the people’s problems and there isn’t a single public department that is corruption free,” said Sarwar.
