DG KHAN: Seven people dead and 13 wounded on Wednesday as a result of bomb blast inside the political office of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MNA Sardar Amjad Farooq Khan Khosa in Dera Ghazi Khan’s Taunsa area.
Initial reports say that explosion caused a fire at the office of the MNA, who luckily was not there in the surrounding at the time of blast.
District Police Officer DG Khan Ghulam Mubasshir Maken confirmed that seven people got killed while 13 sustained injuries and have been shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Taunsa.
Among dead, two candidates for union council chairman Zameerul Hasan Sangi and Akhtar Tangwani were also dead.
Soon after the blast, rescue teams and fire fighting vehicles reached the spot where investigation and rescue efforts are started. Police and security personnel have cordoned off the area of the explosion, while bomb disposal squad was also called at the scene of blast.
According to sources, the sound of the blast was heard from at least two kilometers.
