LAHORE: The Aitchison College administration did not allow Dr Agha Ghazanfar, the college principal, to step inside the university premises on Thursday.
The principals was barred from entering the university by the management the moment he returned from London to take charge of his post. The officials of the university had also detained his official car.
Subsequently, the principal registered a complaint against the administration at the Race Course police station.
He said, while talking to media just before entering his residence, that he was being penalised over maintaining merit and was being thwarted by Ameer Hussain in spite of orders given by the Lahore High Court.
Earlier, the principal was expelled from his post by Aitchison Board of Governors back in July and the Lahore High Court had given the orders to reinstate him on August 23.
The moment he was ousted in July, Dr Ghazanfar told the media that he was under grave pressure from powerful quarters concerning admissions. He had informed that the admission process in current year was transparent and in accordance to the merit lists.
However, the university board of governors had maintained that number of administrative issues had sprung between him and the staff.
Meanwhile, a member of the Board of Governor, Mustafa Ramday said the move was made on the grounds of ordinary issues. “I strongly disagree with the decision made by the majority of the board,” he expressed.
On the other hand, a trend on social media has been seen throughout this day saying ‘Sham on Aitchison Admin’.
