LAHORE: The Tourism Development Corporation of the Punjab (TDCP) seems to be on the verge to bring in the nation’s first double-decker bus service for tourists in the city.
After an apparently successful service of Metro in Lahore, it seems that the next service would be of having different style and it would be named as Sightseeing Lahore bus service.
Managing Director Ahmar Malik told on Tuesday that two custom-made Volvo buses developed by the corporation for a sum of $376,000 likely to arrive Karachi by September 20. He added that the service would be inaugurated in the midst of October as soon as the supply of the buses arrive in the city during first half of October.
He further said that the route of the service had not been decided yet buses were expected to carry tourists between the Wallad City and Gaddafi Stadium after having obtained endorsement from Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
The MD said that additional terminals would also be constructed after the opening of more routes and bringing on more buses. He informed that one terminal was under construction alongside Punjab Stadium while other was in the adjacent of the Fort Road Food Street.
