Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif inaugurated the ground-breaking of 1180MW Bhiki Power Plant at Sheikhupura on Friday evening.
Costing 55 billion rupees, the grand project, jointly supported by Harben Electronic International of China and American General Electric, would be completed by the end of 2017.
Punjab Governor Muhammad Rafique Rajwana, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi were also present on this occasion.
Meanwhile, addressing the participants at the event, PM Nawaz also detailed the projects his government has launched since in office. All the schemes and projects that current government has initiated across the Punjab have been discussed by the premier during his speech.
He also accounts persuasively that how his government has been working with dedication for the betterment of the country. Referring to the opposition parties, he indirectly said that his party does not adopt ‘lip-service’ strategy like other parties are doing.
He said that number of power-projects have been inaugurated and the shortage of electricity in the country would come to an end within 2 years. He said that his government believes in serving the public and does not curb the prosperity of the country as others are doing.
