PM and Army Chief appreciate steps taken against militants


Karachi: On Monday, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif visited Corps headquarter and held meeting with Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif.


PM also headed the meeting of the provincial apex committee which has to implement Nation Action Plan (NAP), this meeting was headed at the Governor’s House. The main participants of the meeting were Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, Corps Commander Karachi Lt Gen Naveed Mukhtar, DG Rangers Bilal Akber, security agencies officials, Governor Sindh Dr Ishrtul Ibad, Chief Minister Sindh Qaem Ali Shah and former president and co-chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party Asif Ali Zardari.

Participants of the meeting discussed on many of the aspects related to peace in Karachi, participants also briefed over the implementation of NAP in Sindh.

The premier also said we have to get rid of terrorism, and there is no option of failing against militancy. He also discussed ongoing operation in Karachi and also appreciated intelligence based action in Sindh.

According to the sources, Nawaz Sharif will also meet members of Mutthaida Qaumi Movement.

General Raheel Sharif also visited Rangers Headquarters Karachi and was briefed about the security situation by Director-General Rangers Karachi, Major General Bilal Akbar.
