ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information, Pervez Rashid said here on Monday that no one could defend the statements of Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) Chief, Altaf Hussain in anyway.
While talking to newsmen, federal minister said that even MQM leaders would condemn the same statements if these were given by anyone else.
He said that it was unforgivable crime till Altaf owns its statements against the state institutions.
Rashid said that Altaf Hussain’s speech was the violation of the country’s constitution, adding, he does not have any personal differences with Altaf Hussain but his speech was strongly condemnable.
Information Minister said in reply to a question that government has taken decision over Hussain’s statement that was clearly addressed by Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.
Talking about the peaceful environment of Karachi, Pervez Rashid said that after many years this time in Karachi on Eid-ul-Fitr people spend almost Rs.70 billion on Eid shopping. “People on the roads met me during my last visit of Karachi and appreciated the government for restoring peace in the city”, he added.
