ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif met the Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif at the Prime Minister House on Tuesday to discuss certain issues concerning national security.
The meeting was also attended by senior military leaders which discuss the strategy to control the situation in the federal capital which had arisen due to the protest and sit-in by the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT).
According to the sources, the military leadership apprised premier Nawaz Sharif about the development made in the ongoing ‘Zarb-i-Azb’ military operation in North Waziristan.
The premier also highlighted the efforts of the government to open political talk with both PAT and PTI to call their protests and sit-ins off. PM told the COAS about the refusal of talk from both the parties.
Meanwhile, there have been obvious apprehensions in the leadership of the ruling party of the country about the protests against the government by anti-government parties.
