ISLAMABAD: National Assembly on Tuesday has postponed the resolutions seeking to end the membership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) 28 members National Assembly who have been remained absent from house for consecutive 40 days.
Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) wanted to table the resolutions.
The chair postponed the resolutions, Finance Ishaq Dar said on the issue that government wants to resolve the issue with consensus.
MQM leaders Kanwar Naveed Jamil, Rashid Godil and Asif Hasnain said it is not due to rift between MQM and PTI, the matter should be handle accordance to the Constitution and Law.
On a point order, Opposition Leader Syed Khurshid Ahmad Shah said that the matter of PTI members resgination should not be delayed and should be decided as quick as possible.
PTI stalwart Shah Mehmood Quershi said resloutions regarding deseating PTI memebers are on the agenda and asked that it should be postponed and any decision should be taken to end the matter.
The names of the PTI MNAs mentioned in the motion: Engineer Hamidul Haq, Asad Umar, Sajid Nawaz, Ghulam Sarwar Khan, Imran Khattak, Imran Khan, Engineer Ali Muhammad Khan Advocate, Amjad Ali Khan, Mujahid Ali, Shafqat Mehmood, Aqibullah, Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Hussain Qureshi, Shehryar Afridi, Rai Hassan Nawaz Khan, Khiyal Zaman Orakzai, Arif Alvi, Dr Muhammad Azhar Khan Jadoon, Dr Shireen Mehrunnisa Mazari, Dawar Khan Kundi, Munaza Hassan, Col (retd) Ameerullah Marwat, Nafeesa Inyatullah Khan Khattak, Murad Saeed, Sajida Begum, Junaid Akbar, Ayesha Gulalai, Qaiser Jamal and Lal Chand.
