NA-122 Vote Transfer case: ECP to announce decision on Feb 1


ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) reserved a decision on a plea regarding alleged vote transfer from National Assembly consistency NA-122 during by-elections.


Chief Election Commissioner Justice Retired, Sardar Raza Khan heading the bench who is hearing the plea filed by Aleem Khan, PTI ticket holder against the alleged vote transfer has decided to announce the decision on February 1.

In general elections 2013, from NA-122 PML-N’s Sardar Ayaz Sadiq claimed the seat against Pakistan Tehree-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan, election was challenged by PTI in election tribunal, after more than two years, tribunal gave the decision and declared  the election null and void on the basis of irregularities, directed to conduct a new election on NA-122.

On the second time, PML-N gave the ticket to Sardar Ayaz Sadiqagain, from PTI Aleem Khan was contested the election, the result of the election remained unchanged, as Sardar Ayaz Sadiq bagged the seat with 74,525 votes, PTI Aleem Khan got 72,082, interestingly the winning margin of PML-N candidate was less than previous time when he was up against PTI chief Imran Khan.

After the by-polls, PTI challenged the elections, claimed the government has transferred the votes of NA-122 to influence the elections in their favour.

PTI chairman Imran Khan in a series of tweets, shared some documents on NA-122 and also said that he believes the PTI have strong case against Ayaz Sadiq.
