MQM LEGISLATOR(NA),TAHIRA ASIF, FAILED TO SURVIVE THE BULLET INJURIES

LAHORE: Female legislator of MQM, in the National Assembly, yielded to the bullet injuries, on Thursday night, in the hospital, where she was admitted to, a day earlier, after being shot by the attackers.

Medical authorities earlier informed the media of the four bullet wounds, she received, in her abdomen and leg and doctors had conducted two lengthy operations since Wednesday afternoon to save her life, however she couldn’t survive the injuries.

According to Dr Farrukh Raza, SP(Operations), Iqbal Town, the deceased legislator was travelling from Johar Town towards Karim Block, with her driver and a daughter, in the car, and meanwhile she stopped to buy some fruit articles from the fruit seller. The SP ,further told the media, that the two motorcyclists ,whose faces were veiled, attempted to rob her. He, further added, that according to the eye-witnesses, including the driver, she was shot down by the attackers when she refused to hand over a gold necklace ,being abducted by the robbers.

MQM chief Altaf Hussain has expressed his strong disapprobation over the sad demise of the party’s female legislator, disapproving the police’s investigation results, claiming this act to be a hatched conspiracy : a targeted attempt against MQM.

The Deputy Convener of MQM  Rabita Committe ,Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, rejected the police’s claim outrightly by mentioning that the attackers had identified her name before opening fire. He demanded the government of the prompt arrest of the attackers.

Similarly, the senior leadership of MQM has alleged that she had been receiving death threats from unidentified people, for the last six months, and criticized the government of failing to provide her the appropriate security.

A three-day mourning has been declared by MQM, over the demise of the party’s prominent leader. Another notable MQM leader, Haider Abbas Rizvi has said, in determination, that the rendering of the lives of our people, against curbing extremism, would not be futile.

Chief Minister Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif , has conveyed his condolences to the bereaved ones,and has asked the Inspector General of Punjab to submit the investigation reports.
