Militants abducted the judicial magistrate

QUETTA: The Judicial Magistrate Ziarat Jam Saka Dashti has been kidnapped from Pishin district of Balochistan on Monday.

On the condition to be kept anonymous, a senior police officer revealed the media that the vehicle which carried the judicial magistrate was seized by the gunmen in Pishin district.

“The kidnappers freed the driver and security guard of the magistrate near Saranan area of Pishin,” he said.

“We have taken the driver and security guard in our custody,” Deputy Commissioner Pishin, Bashir Bazai told the media via telephone.

The operation has been launched in search for the hints of kidnappers to recover the magistrates.

“We have cordoned off all entry and exit points in the district,” Bazai said.

A couple of kidnapping incidents have been recorded in the Pishin district which is linked with Afghan-border. However, the kidnapped, which usually were aid workers, had been set free after the ransom was paid.

Such kidnappings were observed to be gradually deteriorated in Balochistan after the establishment of nationalist lead coalition government in the province. Nevertheless, the recent abduction has put a question mark over the performance of law enforcement officials.
