D I KHAN: A local court granted bail to Provincial Minister for Revenue and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf leader (PTI), Ali Amin Gandapur.
Gandapur was presented before the court today after his one-day physical remand expired.
Gandapur is charged with taking possession of ballot boxes during the local body elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and taking out a weapon on a policeman.
The provincial minister had surrendered at his residence to the police on Monday night.
It is to be remembered here that Gandapur entered in Himad polling station in his constituency at about 4 am on Sunday morning, a day after the polling. He tried to harass the staff of polling booth and threatened the police staff over there.
Gandapur tried to take away the ballot boxes with him and when the police staff on duty interrupted, he tore the uniform of SHO and also misbehaved with the women polling staff present in the booth.
DPO, Sadiq Baloch has submitted a report to RPO in which it is stated that the finance minister was intoxicated at that time. Three charges were put against him including snatching of ballot boxes from the polling staff and threatening them as well as police deployed over there.
