Rape case: Peshawar dancer, Afghan MP gets out-of-court settlement


PESHAWAR: A Local dancer who accused former Afghan parliamentarian of raping her after the dance performance, agreed to settle down the case out-of-court, according to the sources.


The women resident of Tehkal earlier claimed that the Afghan national called her for a dance performance at his resident in Hayatabad.

She further told that after the dance performance on Tuesday night at his place, the Afghan national, who was later identified as a member of the Afghan Wolesi Jirga, overpowered her and raped her.


During the police raid, the armed guard and watchman of the accused were arrested and his nationality documents and registration papers were taken into custody.

The documents taken identified the accused man as Sher Ali Ahmedzai , a member of the Afghan Wolesi Jirga or parliament’s lower house.

The latest update in this rape case tells that Afghan MP and the teenager dancer have got it settled out of the court, according to the sources.

However, so far the case is not withdrawn by the accuser, said Hayatabad police.
