PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf (PTI) took a lead in the local government re-polls by securing seven district council seats whereas N-League secured three district seats and remained second at the end of the day on conclusion.
According to the initial results, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Awami National Party (ANP) failed to get even a single seat in the re-polls.
According to the unofficial results of Peshawar, PTI’s candidate, Aamir Naveed won in Ghari Sherdad UC-45 by securing 175 votes. PTI’s Rehman Afzal remained victorious in UC-30 by getting 137 votes. PTI’s Naveed barki won from Urmar Payan. PTI’s Malik Afzal won in UC-27 by securing 137 votes. Usman Bashir of PTI is also said to have won in UC-16 but the results were not confirmed till the fling of this report.
DRO Riaz Mehsud said that results were awaited from far-flung area, adding that re-polls had been held in at least 29 polling stations in Peshawar alone.
