PAF camp Peshawar attack: 13 militants killed, PM, President condemn the incident


According to ISPR, 13 militants had been put down while 10 soldiers sustained injuries during combating the attack.


On the other hand rescue sources, however, claims that 22 people have been injured. A search operation to find hidden terrorists was launched soon after the incident and Corps commander Lieutenant General Hidayatur Rehman carried out aerial monitoring of the base from a helicopter.

Police said that at least 15 people were taken into custody during the search operation. As stated military officials at the base, all the terrorists were wearing explosive-laden jackets and were armed with hand-propelled grenades, mortars, AK-47 rifles.

Eyewitnesses said that around seven attackers were in black militia uniforms along with white shoes.

The DG ISPR claimed that attackers had targeted the guard room at the camp early in the morning, while the QRF arrived the spot and surrounded the militants, defusing their plan. Subsequently, the attackers had been involved in combat and confined to a tiny area around the guard room area of the camp.


PM Nawaz Sharif and President Mamnoon Hussain condemned the attack soon after it took place. Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif reached Peshawar to inquire about the soldiers who sustained injuries during the clash.

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar called on Nawaz Sharif at PM House Islamabad to discuss the incident and appreciate the civil law enforcement agencies on their role in the attack.
