As the federal government is not going to call off the working in the country on November 9 to observe ‘Iqbal Day’, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa is likely to take it off.
The chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the ruling party in the province, has requested the Chief Minister of KP to declare Iqbal Day as a public holiday in the province.

Earlier, Imran Khan stressed on the need to declare Iqbal Day as public holiday after government announced Nov 9 to be a usual day. Imran maintained that he is against many off days, but as Iqbal Day is more special than the rest as Iqbal embodied ideology of Pakistan, it should be off in the country.
