Four APS convicts executed in Kohat on Wednesday

KOHAT: Four militants having hands in the Army Public School blasts of December last year have been executed on Wednesday in Kohat.

The execution comes two days after Amy Chief General Raheel Sharif sealed black warrants of Maulvi Abdus Salam, Hazrat Ali, Mujeebur Rehman and Sabeel aka Yahya with his signature almost one year after the brutal attacks.

Meanwhile, this was the first such condemnation approved by the army chief after a decree of the Supreme Court on August 2015 which provided legal cover to the setup of military courts.

The development took place after President Mamnoon Hussain dismissed clemency pleas submitted by the four convicts on receiving the premier’s proposal for the same on November 20.

Earlier, a military court announced death sentence for all four militants after the government removed moratorium on the retributions in the country following the National Action Plan.

Last year, a deadly attack targeted Army Public School in Peshawar that took lives of nearly 150 children.
