PESHAWAR: University of Peshawar (UoP) submitted a manuscript responding to the Peshawar High Court in which it is maintained that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Murad Saeed’s detailed marks certificate does not have the varsity’s official mark on it.
UoP stated that a degree can only be provided once, and he passed three papers which he had not got through earlier.
The statements were submitted by the university’s counsel, Waseemuddin on Thursday, stating Saeed has to clear three papers to attain his BS Environmental Sciences degree. The response also adds that a course accomplishing certificate, which was delivered by a clerk, is inadequate for the issuance of the degree and the petition registered by the MNA demanding his degree disregards certain facts.
Meanwhile, Saeed’s degree issue rose when activists from Pukhtoon Students Federation accused him of passing his Remote Sensing, Introduction to Environmental Sciences and Ecology papers within the spam of one hour.
Subsequently, Saeed approached the high court to submit his petition which says ‘the MNA attended UoP from 2005 to 2009 for his undergraduate study and passed all his courses in the said timeframe.
The environmental sciences department chairman had released a course accomplishment certificate on November 26, 2009 and despite recurrent attempts, Saeed was informed the varsity administration will dispatch his degree by post.
