Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari reached Lady Ready Hospital (LRH) Peshawar on Thursday to pay earthquake victims.
Accompanied by Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, Senator Sherry Reham and local PPP officials, the party chairman arrived in the area just before Prime Minister’s directing authorities to boost relief activities.
On this occasion, some earthquake victims’ relatives as well as the provincial ruling party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers staged a protest against Bilawal’s arrival and the hindrances faced by them due to his visit as roads were blocked.
Meanwhile, the party’s senator Sherry Rehman wrote on social media saying they are collecting tents and warm clothes for Peshawar survivors and the truck bearing relief items would leave for the areas tonight.

It is worth mentioning that a senior doctor expressed his concerns, a day after the quake, over politicians and VIPs’ visits at the facility after the disaster saying it hinders relief activities.
“It only adds to the trouble of the patients, who require prompt treatment for their rapid recovery,” added the doctor.
