ISLAMABAD: Security agencies carried out a search operation in Islamabad and seized massive amount of arms and ammunitions beside arresting dozens of suspects on Friday.
A joint search operation led by police, Rangers and intelligence agencies together in Bhara Kahu area of Islamabad where they arrested more than 100 suspected, as sources said.
As stated in the report, the detained suspects possessed large amount of arms, ammunition along with drug as well.
Earlier, at least four allegedly involved in last month’s Attock attack were also arrested from a seminary situated in Islamabad. After that operation, seminaries in the twin cities, Islamabad and Rawalpindi, have been monitored strictly.
Meanwhile, both the cities are put under high alert security ahead of the Defence Day on September 6.
Suspects allegedly having connections with outlawed groups have been hiding in different parts of the country since the launch of Pak-Army’s grand operation Zarb-e-Azb against them in North Waziristan. In this regard, the government of Pakistan had also took a step to register the seminaries across the country and had given orders to monitor the activities around the areas to ensure the security of in the country.
