Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan is determined to plant 1.2 billion trees in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by the year 2018.
PTI chief said while talking to media that global warming has been increasing due to insufficient rainfall and other negative impacts in Pakistan. He said that PTI government plans to plant the said number of trees in the government province by 2018 to tackle the factors causing decrease in rainfall.
Imran said 100 million trees have already been planted in the province and saplings are all set to plant further 450 million trees across the province.
The PTI chief stated the trees will be planted with prioritizing barren lands. He said layman is inviting the government to plant trees at their lands hit by water-logging and salinity. He vowed that these pieces of lands would be treated and trees are to be planted on these areas.
According to Imran, planting trees is the best way to fight the global warming and climate change. He stated the tree plantation project of the provincial government has been commended on the global scale.
