CNG in Punjab: After seven months pull up CNG stations will reopen today


LAHORE: Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations after the halt of seven months across Punjab province will be reopening from today.


Negotiation to reopen CNG station held between Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) and Compressed Natural Gas Association, both parties struck the successful deal.

The stations would remain open till June 6 without any break, after that CNG will be available for two days in a week.

According to SNGP officials all stations would start supply in a couple of days.


All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA) Chairman Ghayas Paracha appreciated Shahid Khaqan Abbasi Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources for his support allowing the owners to open CNG stations.

In Pakistan 3.5 million private vehicles have CNG kit , it is about 80 percent of the total vehicles in the country, according to statistics Pakistan.

Stations owners have been asked to deposit Rs 1.2 million in the name of security deposit, according to private media, stations in various city have not been open due to non-payment of deposit.
