Bomb threats at Karachi University turn out fake


KARACHI: The University of Karachi on Wednesday denied rumours of campus was evacuated following reports of a bomb threat.


University spokesperson said, “Reports that bomb has been planted on campus are fake, students have not been evacuated and classes and labs are being held as per schedule”.


According to police officials, they have received calls on their emergency service number 15, after that Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was sent to the location .

Earlier, electronic media reported that bomb was planted at Islami Jamiat Talaba’s book fair in KU.

After Bacha Khan University attack in January, government on the recommendation of Law and Enforcement agencies (LEAs) directed public and private education institutes to take measure regarding security.
