QUETTA: At least, 243 terrorists have been arrested in Mehmoodabad, Quetta by FC security force during an ongoing search operation launched one week before.
Security forces have also seized massive weapons from the arrested suspects that includes 9mm pistols, one 12 bore and 22 bore pistol, a 3 nod 3, a revolver and a shot gun.
According to official spokesperson of FC, security forces have detained at least 243 suspected militants in an ongoing search operation conducted on last Friday night in Quetta. On June 9, paramilitary troops arrested three militants, with bounty on their heads, involved in Khalid Airbase attack, during an operation in capital city of Balochistan.
“Police carried out a search operation in the Eastern Bypass area of Quetta and detained three terrorists belonging to a proscribed outfit who were also accused in a number of targeted killings,” Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti, Balochistan Home Minister told reporters in a news conference at the CCPO office Quetta. He also said that a large cache of arms and ammunitions was seized from their possession.
Since the launching of National Action Plan, security around the country is being tightened. Hundreds of militants and head of banned organizations have been arrested so far. Moreover, a paramilitary operation ‘Zarb e Azab’ is also ongoing in North Waziristan to eradicate the terrorism and extremism from the country. Both political and military leadership are hopeful in restoring ultimate peace in the country.
