QUETTA: Unidentified militants opened fire at a local leader of a political party in Balochistan’s Turbat district on Friday morning.
As stated the sources, Ali Muhammad Baloch, a National Party (NP) leader was shot dead after two armed assailants targeted him outside his dwelling in Balecha area of Tehsil Tump.
As a result of being shot, he died on the spot while assailants fled the area, later Levies officials approached the spot and shifted Baloche’s dead body to a nearby hospital.
The Spokesperson for Balochistan chief minister, Jan Muhammad Buledi, condemned the shooting of a leader and called it a plan to spoil peace of the province.
Buledi said in a statement that NP would observe a three day mourning to mourn the brutal incident of its leader’s killing.
The deceased Muhammad Ali Baloch was the party’s local organizer and a devoted worker, as said Buledi. He added that law enforcement agencies were directed by the government to arrest the responsible hands behind the killing of Muhammad Ali Baloch. However, so far there is no claim of responsibility for the attack.
