Baldia factory fire case: Court issues non-bailable arrest warrant against IO


Karachi: On Saturday local court issued arrest warrant against Investigating officer (IO) Jehanzeb, Sub-inspector, because he didn’t appear in the hearing of Baldia factory fire case.


In the previous hearing of case, investigating officer got failed to bring the Joint Investigation Team’s report in court.

On this judge of trial court showed displeasure and issued non-bailable arrest warrant against IO and also ordered to discontinue his (IO’s) salary.

In the previous hearing officers and investigation officer were told to bring the JIT report to the court along with witness on 21 Feb, but today on scheduled hearing reports were not submitted to the courts.


Today, Baldia factory owner and his two sons were also not present in the hearing set by court, according to their counsel, they are not present in the curt due to medical issues(unfit).

Factory owner name Abdul Aziz Bhaila and his two sons, Arshad Bhaila are said responsible for such a harsh incident. They didn’t even arrived for the last hearing although, their medical certificates are not provided to the country yet.

The court said their counsel to make sure their clients will join the next hearing, if order would not be obeyed than they also might issue their arrest warrants.

Earlier, Shazia Hanjra , special prosecutor had separated herself from the case due to non-cooperation by the IO.

The court will next hear the matter on March 7.
