Army killed 80 militants near Afghan border


Khyber Agency: It is reported that, fierce fight between Pak Army and Taliban is underway in Tirah Valley from the last few days.


According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), at least 80 militants were demolished in the operation in Khyber Agency. It also told that seven soldiers also lost their lives during the operation.

An official told that causalities are reported heavily on both sides and the clash is still under way. He also told that one army major was among the injured. Bodies of the soldiers were shifted to the Combined Military Hospital in Peshawar.

On Saturday, army carried out air strikes in Nari Baba, Sanda Pal areas of tehsil Bara in Khyber Agency, sources told.

Lashkr-i-Islam and Tehreek-i-Taliban have formed an alliance.

A spokesperson from the banned Lashkar-i-Islam (LI), Salahuddin Ayubi, told journalists on phone that  body of 11 soldiers were in the custody of his group.

He also told that soldiers wree killed during a ground attack launcehed by security forces to get hold of the LI stronghold in Sipah area.


The constant fight between army and militants is going on to get hold of important ridge , from where the entire valley can be overlooked and adjacent areas of Afghanistan.
