ISLAMABAD: Cleric of Laal Masjid Maulana Abdul Aziz has been granted pre-arrest bail by district and sessions court of Islamabad on Tuesday in Two criminal cases registered against him.
Additional Session Judge Raja Asif Mehmood heard bail plea of Maulana Abdul Aziz granted bail against surety bonds of fifty thousand rupees.
According to Pakistan today, “the cases were registered at Aabpara Police Station under Section 295-A of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) read with Section ¾ of the Amplifier Act and Section 506 (ii) (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the PPC”.
Talking to media outside the court, Laal Masjid cleric said that all the cases registered against him and his family were false.
He said that he was ready to forgive former president COAS(retd) Pervez Musharraf and others, who were involved in the Lal Masjid operation in July 2007 in which his brother has been killed.
“I will announce the forgiveness publicly,” Abdul Aziz added.
He also said that rule of Quran and Sunnat should be implemented in the country and will continue his peace effort in this regard.
Lawyer and activist Jibran Nasir who has been vocal against Laal Masjid chief cleric tweeted on the bail.
