River Indus is in medium flood at Guddu Braj and a low flood at Sukkar Braj with water level rising. According to flood forecasting center in Lahore, the water in flow at Guddu Braj is 366, 764 cusec while the out flow is 340,864 cusec.
A peak of about 400,000 cusec flood water will pass through Guddu Braj in the next 24 hours. At the Sukkar Braj the upstream of water recorded was 222,780 cusec and the downstream was recorded 170,185 cusec.
Medium flood has also been reported at Punj Nad head works on Chenab with water level receding.
Pakistan army troops have shifted 55,967 people to safer places and distributed 208 tons of rashan during relief and rescue operations in the flood hit areas.
According to ISPR, 24 medical camps have been established where army doctors have treated 19,150 patients.
As many as 24 relief camps have also been established. Up to 130 tons of rashan have been dispatched to the flood hit areas so far.
The Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that the government would not leave the flood hit people alone till they complete rehabilitation.
Addressing the flood victims relief camp at Mochi Pura Bund, Tehsel Shuja Abad, he announced that first installment of assistance will be provided to the flood affected people before Eid ul Azha.
