The driver and passenger of a Jeep Wrangler that barreled by way of a group of Black Lives Issue protest in Colorado previous week and was shot at stated they were just misplaced and attempting to get to a community airport in advance of they received accidentally caught in the melee.

The scene grew to become even a lot more chaotic following the group started throwing rocks and projectiles at the Jeep, which crashed into yet another car. One guy then opened fire, authorities reported.

The driver wasn’t targeting Black Life Subject protesters, statements passenger Gregory Goodenough.

Goodenough was on his way to the airport to catch a flight to San Jose, California when the GPS directed them on to a highway that experienced been closed to accommodate the protest, he stated.

‘We did notice that there have been Black Lives Matter protesters on all sides of the street trying to prevent website traffic.’ said Goodenough in a two-minute extended movie posted to YouTube. ‘We then averted any pedestrians in the roadways and continued on to the freeway. There was no police barricade that stopped us.”

Investigators are still probing how the Jeep acquired onto the freeway when accessibility streets were shut down.

Demonstrators surrounded the Jeep, throwing “projectiles,” applying bats “to damage the automobile,” and opening hearth 7 instances, Goodenough mentioned. Authorities reported two men and women have been hurt.
