RIETI – Il Messaggero’s journey continues on Pnrr-funded works (Plan for National Recovery and Resilience). After the interventions dedicated to social inclusion, today it is the turn of urban renewal projects, which aim to reduce cases of marginalization and social degradation. In this context, the Municipal Council has approved the final project for the completion of the multi-purpose sports facility of the Cinque Confini, in Terminillo. There are 2.5 million euros on board.

“Another step forward in establishing National Recovery Plan resources and resilience in our region – explains the Public Works Consultant, Claudia Chiarinelli With this measure, we will finally be able to complete the five-border structure funded by two and a half million euros. The project consists of restoring a building that has been abandoned for years, during which a new gym will be built in the basement with tailor-made sports training courses, also for skating, as well as a water treadmill. Not only this, for refreshments, there will also be a bar attached to the gym. While a restaurant and a panoramic terrace will be built on the upper floor.

Permissions. «The project has received all the opinions expected – adds Chiarinelli – the next step will be the publication of the Expression of Interest, which is preparatory to the start of the works. However, a structure made of wood would be appropriate for the times. It is a project that fits into the broader discourse of relaunching tourism on our mountain. Among other things, our goal is to bring some football teams back into this gym that need to do athletic training in a loud and suggestive place like Terminillo.”

Administration. In a second the problem of managing this factory will also appear, but the intention of the junta in Sinibaldi for the time being is to complete the restoration of what is now a reinforced concrete structure, abandoned for a very long time.
«Let’s talk about a project, – says the sports consultant, Claire Masticelli – which will be decorated with a kind of garden on the terrace and by many windows that will allow users to appreciate this part of Terminillo. In short, it will be a very significant redevelopment. Our goal is to provide this area with a series of sports and tourism shows. The final project involves restoring the structure in a completely different style.”

Road links. In the meantime, it should be noted that works have begun to make Regional Route 4 bis Terminillo safe. This was announced by the Regional Adviser for Public Works, Manuela Rinaldi: «The intervention funded by 500 thousand euros from Astral. An important intervention for the redevelopment of an artery at the heart of sporting events and traveled by thousands of tourists every summer.” Terminillo will, among other things, once again be the star of the motor world this year. In fact, it will host the 58th Enel X Way, valid for the Italian Mountain Speed Championship, and 56th Karuti Cup, scheduled for July 1-2, 2023.
